Dear Friends

As you may know, Open Drinks is a social event for people who care about
open source, open data, open government, the open web, and open systems in
general.

The next meeting of Open Drinks will be this Thursday August 28th starting
at 6pm.

I am particularly excited about this edition of Open Drinks because we will
be meeting at the South Beach Yacht Club. It is a nice venue in a very
pretty spot and we will have the space all to ourselves. Usually we hold
Open Drinks at a bar and it can be crowded or noisy. Having the yacht club
to ourselves will make it easier to converse. It would be great if we
could make the most of having this private space by having an excellent
group for this edition of Open Drinks.

Please invite other smart, interesting people who share an interest in open

We’re holding another Open Drinks here in San Francisco before taking the
event back across the bay. Lisa Green has secured the South Beach Yacht
Club for us next Thursday, August 28.

SBYC has been around for 25 years, in an excellent little spot out at Pier
40, and is a much desired location to throw events— but you have to know
someone. Luckily we do!
